Do Now 10/16/08

Objective: Students will recognize that the criteria that one uses to analyze and evaluate anything depend on one’s point of view and purpose for the analysis.

Aim: What do you think are the key scenes in Shakespeare's Othello?

I think that the key scenes are scene I and scene V.

Do Now: Students will pick from a "hat" one of the following scenes and act them out in front of the class. While the audience has to guess which Act and Scene is being acted out.Choose several key scenes.

Interpretive:

What do these scenes reveal about the characters?

These scenes show who the main charcters are and reveal their true identy of who they really are in this play.

Which scene, if any, do you think is the most important scene and Why?

I think that scene I is the most important scene because it starts to introduce the characters and the plot of the play.

Literary Analysis by the audience:

What drama terms did the group include?

Dramtis Personae, Setting, stage direction and etc.
